Privacy Policy

1. Overview

peg-finder is designed to be private by default. We don't require an email address, we don't use cookies, and your quiz answers are processed entirely in your browser. This page explains what data we do collect and why.

2. What We Collect

Quiz answers (optional analytics)

When you complete the quiz, we may send your anonymized answers (role, experience level, budget, preferences) to our server for aggregate analytics. No personally identifiable information is included. A one-way hash of your IP address is stored solely for abuse prevention — it cannot be reversed to recover your IP.

Server logs

Our hosting provider (Netlify) automatically collects standard server logs: browser type, operating system, referrer URL, and IP address. These logs are retained for up to 30 days and are not merged with other data sources.

Analytics (Umami)

We use Umami, a privacy-focused, open-source analytics tool. Umami does not use cookies, does not store IP addresses, and does not share data with third parties. All collected data (page views, referrer, browser, device type) is fully anonymized.

3. What We Don't Collect

• Email addresses (we don't ask for one)
• Names or account information
• Cookies or tracking pixels
• Advertising or retargeting data

4. Data Storage

Quiz analytics are stored in Supabase on AWS servers in Frankfurt, Germany (eu-central-1). Your data stays in the EU.

5. Affiliate Links

Product links on peg-finder are affiliate links. When you click a product link and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The affiliate programs (Tantus, Peepshow Toys) may track that the click originated from peg-finder — this is standard affiliate tracking and is governed by the respective store's privacy policy.

6. Hosting

This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc., 44 Montgomery Street, Suite 300, San Francisco, CA 94104, USA. Netlify is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

7. Your Rights (GDPR)

Since we collect minimal data and no personally identifiable information, there is typically nothing to request deletion of. However, under the GDPR you have the right to:

• Request information about any stored data
• Request correction or deletion of your data
• Object to data processing
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
